WRA And Watereuse Florida Potable Reuse Workshop For Elected Officials
WateReuse associations WRA and Watereuse Florida held their first annual event, Potable Reuse for Florida, which was a full day workshop for elected officials at the Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport hotel on March 23, 2013. The WRA contacted and hired Orlando video production Company Lasting Blueprint to provide the two organizations with videography of the workshop.
The objective of WRA and Watereuse Florida are to work with groups and individuals with the goal to improve and increase local water supplies. The Potable Reuse workshop would include over 10 guest speakers including, Mark Farrell, P.E., WRA, and Bart Weiss, President WateReuse Florida.
The day of the workshop was broken down into three moderated sessions. The WateReuse workshop would have two different topics to discuss in each session by different speakers. A keynote address was also provided during the lunch break period by guest speaker Greg Munson, Deputy Secretary Of Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP). He discussed how to get ready for the next water demand wave.
The sessions for the day were an Overview of Potable Reuse, Economic and Regulatory Discussion, and Potable Reuse Opportunities for Communities in Florida. Each topic concluded with the audience asking questions and receiving excellent answers. All were very good and effective group discussions. The workshop was very educational for anyone that was not familiar with the entire sustainable water use process.
